Viu premiered its first Filipino original streaming series, Still. Still is an eight-episode musical narrative series produced by Viu Philippines and This Side Up, in collaboration with Arkeofilms, TheaterFansManila.com, FlipMusic, and Black Box Collab.
The series is directed by Treb Monteras II and produced by Monster Jimenez who are also the people behind the internationally acclaimed hip-hop musical film, Respeto. For this series, they team up with well-known creatives from the film, theater, and music industry such as Pat Valera, Giancarlo Abrahan, Nicco Manalo, Nica Del Rosario, Matthew Chang, and Mike Shimamoto among others.
The series also features a star-studded cast with film, television, and theater actors Julie Anne San Jose, Christian Bautista, Bituin Escalante, Gab Pangilinan, Gabby Padilla, Lance Reblando, Abe Autea, and many more.
Still follows up-and-coming artists in the midst of the pandemic, the synopsis follows:
“Daloy Himig holds a music camp that abruptly ends when the pandemic hits. With quarantine protocols placed around the country, the campers are left stuck in Balay. Among them are estranged best friends Laura and Sab. They become fast friends with Iggy, Tugs and Leigh. Along with mentors Nikolas and Annette, their lives and stories intertwine through powerful & poignant music. Through song and stage, they hope and rage to prove to the world that they still have a voice–that they still matter.” – Viu
